Our mission as an archive
To proactively collect records that have long-term historical value and show the diversity of the Rugbeian Community.
To enable the preservation of the school’s 450 plus years of collective memory and the evidential value of its collections.
To ensure that records are conserved and catalogued to the highest standards.
To help the school manage its records in an efficient manner to enable the appraisal, retention or disposal of material where appropriate.
To make collections available for research to support the school’s teachers, students, the Rugbeian Community & stakeholders in:
- studying the history of the school and its place in the development of education (including the curriculum and co-curricular activities)
- showing the school’s relationships with the town of Rugby, the UK and the wider world
- exploring the school’s influence on society, politics, religion and other areas
- highlighting the stories of Rugbeians who have made a difference
